This policy explains how SJ Tech (“we”, “us”), the operator of Smart Jewelry POS, collects, stores and uses information when you visit smartjewelrypos.com or use the Smart Jewelry POS application (app.smartjewelrypos.com).
1. Who this applies to
- Subscribers: jewelry businesses that register an account, and the staff users they add.
- Your customers: people whose details a subscriber records in the system (for example, on an invoice). For this data, the subscriber decides what is collected and why. We store and process it on the subscriber’s behalf.
- Website visitors: people who browse our website or request a demo.
2. Information we collect
- Account details (business name, owner and staff names, emails, phone numbers, store addresses, tax registration numbers NTN/STRN): to create and run your account, send invoices and service emails, and print your business details on invoices.
- Business records you enter (products, stock, metal rates, invoices, payments, vendors, repair jobs, custom orders): to provide the service.
- Your customers’ details (names, phone numbers, addresses, CNIC numbers where you record them, purchase and payment history): stored on your behalf so you can invoice and keep customer accounts.
- Sign-in and security data (login times, IP address, browser/device type): to keep accounts secure, detect misuse and show you active sessions.
- Subscription billing (plan, invoices, payment status, masked card or account number returned by the bank): to bill your subscription and confirm payments.
- Website and demo requests (name, email, phone, business name, IP address, browser type): to respond to your enquiry.
3. How we use information
- To provide, maintain and support the service.
- To bill your subscription and confirm payments.
- To send service emails: invoices, receipts, security alerts, password resets and reports you have switched on.
- To protect accounts and investigate misuse.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your data or your customers’ data. We do not use your customers’ data for our own marketing.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the service:
- Bank Alfalah, to process subscription payments.
- Email delivery provider, to send service emails.
- Hosting provider, where our servers and backups are kept.
- Authorities, when required by Pakistani law or a valid legal order.
5. Public catalog pages
If you switch on a public catalog page for a store, the products you choose to show on it are visible to anyone with the link. It is off by default and you control what appears.
6. How we store and protect data
- Data is stored on secured servers located in a data center in Europe.
- All traffic to the app uses encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never in readable form.
- Each subscriber’s data is kept separate. Other subscribers cannot see it.
- We take regular backups to protect against data loss.
- Our support staff may access your account only to help with an issue you raise. Every such access is logged.
- The app may keep a copy of some data on your own device so it works during internet outages. That copy stays on your device and is cleared when you sign out.
7. How long we keep data
- While your subscription is active, we keep your data so the service works.
- After your subscription ends, we keep your data for 30 days so you can reactivate or ask for an export. After that it is permanently deleted.
- Copies in backups are overwritten on our normal backup cycle, within 15 days.
- Subscription invoices and payment records may be kept longer where tax law requires it.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct information that is wrong, or delete your account and data (see section 7). Email support@smartjewelrypos.com from your registered account email. We reply within 7 working days. If you are a customer of one of our subscribers, contact that jeweler first, since they control your record.
9. Cookies and browser storage
The app uses your browser’s storage to keep you signed in and remember settings such as light or dark mode. Our website may use basic cookies for analytics and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, email account owners before the change takes effect.
